Neck pain, stiffness or tension is a major concern that can affect many people. The neck consists of a system of joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves that work together to support the head and allow a wide range of movements. It can be easy for the neck region to become stiff when either one of these structures are not functioning optimally.

Neck pain can feel differently for everyone, but most will describe it as a dull ache while other may experience a sharp tightness on certain movements, limited movement, with discomfort that may spread into the shoulders and/or upper back region.

​Many of the neck structures are closely connected to the base of the skull. When these areas become inflamed or irritated, pain signals can be referred into the head resulting in headaches that can radiate from the neck into the base of the skull, to the temples and behind the eyes.

During her studies, she developed a special interest in the neurophysiology of chronic pain, and researched evidence-based techniques on how to combat pain holistically.
